Meet Your Operations Manager

Morgan

Operations Manager, Purrdy Paws Pet Grooming Spa (Canines), Purrdy Paws Feline Mobile Spa

Hello, my name is Morgan and I’m the Operations Manager for Purrdy Paws Spa. My role at the spa is to ensure your and your furbaby have a purrrfect experience!

My passion is helping people and their furry friends build healthy relationships with grooming. I understand how important your pets are and can ensure you that their safety and well being are my number one priority.

I love working with animals and I’ve had just about every type of pet you can imagine. Growing up on a farm has allowed me to gain experience working with a variety of animals. I believe any animal big or small is important and should be treated as if they were my own.

When I’m not working I offer my time to local rescues by volunteering and raising funds. I love fostering and most of my own pets are rescues.

I am thrilled to be a part of leading the Purrdy Paws Team and I look forward to meeting you and your fur babies!

Caring for your animals and ensuring they have the best experience possible is my number one priority. I am so excited to a part of the team that will help make your animals look and feel their best.

Meet Your Professional Groomers

Alberto: Professional Pet Groomer (Canine Mobile)

Alberto grew up in the Dominican Republic. He immigrated to Canada with his sister and mother as a young child. Alberto had limited exposure to pets in his youth.

When he met and married the owner Jayme Montero he quickly adapted to a lifestyle that heavily revolved around companion animals and their care. Turns out he actually had quite a soft spot for them all along! :)

He wanted to do his part to help the family business progress so he attended Pets Beautiful academy to complete their Pet Stylist Program. He quickly took over the canine mobile operations and has established a large and loyal clientele.

Alberto is fluent in Spanish, French, English and Portuguese.

Alberto's hobbies include Latin music and dancing. He also enjoys woodworking, camping and providing chauffeur services to his daughters.

Shawntel: Grooming Team Manager and Professional Pet Groomer

Hi: I'm Shawntel, and I'm living my dream life!! As the Grooming Team Manager my main focus is keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. Making sure your babies are safe and feel at home by providing your babies with all the TLC I can give.

Rehabilitating puppers from past negative grooming experiences is my passion. Helping those who cannot help themselves feel safe, comfortable, and loved while being groomed is my goal. Treating your kids like my own.

Outside of work I enjoy getting creative. Whether it's art, poetry, or singing my heart out loud, I love it all.

Connection is the name of the game

Emily:

Hi! My name is Emily, and I am so excited to be in the grooming world. I have a Pet Stylist diploma from The Apex Academy Professional Grooming & Animal Arts school in Regina, and also graduated as a Certified Feline Master Groomer. I have a lovely little family of pets, my dog who is a boxer mix and her name is Chicken. My 3 cats Sushi, Baby White and his brother Flufferson.

These little fur babies are my life. Ever since I was a kid all I wanted to do was be around animals and helping them. I've helped/saved so many stray animals, volunteered at a shelter and raised money to help out the shelter. I worked 2 years in a veterinarian clinic as an assistant and this was a great experience and taught me a lot. Since I am also a painter/artist and grooming is a type of art I realized that this was the perfect career choice for me. It makes me so happy to make an animal feel comfortable and amazing in their own skin.

My goal is to make sure that each customer leaves happy with the grooming experience of their little furry friend.

Alanna:

Ever since I was a child, I knew that I wanted to work with animals forever. I've lived with all different kinds of animals from cats and dogs to extreme exotics. I've always been an extreme advocate for animal rights and welfare my entire life and will continue to do so.

When I got my very first dog of my own for my birthday when I was 14. She changed my whole world. Everything I did in my life included her. She was my rock when I went through school and during hardships. She was my everything. During the period when she got sick, I decided to switch from my animation career to something/anything that benefitted animal needs and medical care. I looked into applying for the veterinary technician course at Algonquin college. During that time of applying for the course I got into a dog grooming course.

Since March 2015 I've been a professional Dog Groomer dedicated to making dogs feel more comfortable and stylish. Your family member will always be my number one concern and I'll do everything I can to make sure your family gets the best grooming experience possible.

Jess:

Hi everyone, my names Jess and I’m so excited to meet you and your fur babes. Ive got a 7 year old Chihuahua named Karma who is the light of my life (and spoiled to say the least ) I’ve worked in the pet industry for 6 years, then I started working as a bather and quickly fell in love with grooming! I’m extremely passionate about grooming and animals in general. I apprenticed in my hometown for just over a year and I’m excited to continue my education and pursue my passion here in Ottawa. I'm hoping to get into the competitive grooming world, once everything is back to normal from Covid19. I can’t wait to meet all of your pups and get them feeling squeaky clean and oh so cute!

Tianna:

Hi! My name is Tianna, I am a Dog groomer at Purrdy Paws grooming salon. I have a diploma in Professional Canine Pet stylist program from Apex Academy in Regina.

I have a strong passion for animals! As a child I begged my parents for a dog until we finally got one! I instantly bonded with her and she became my best friend! I would dress her in a superman cape and call her superdog! As a groomer my goal is to nurture the love and kindness dogs bring into our hearts. Like my dog Jewel gives to me. We all have an unbreakable bond with our dogs!  I enjoy seeing dogs coming into themselves after they are groomed and seeing happy clients at the end of each groom. I want all dogs to feel like superdogs!

Meet Your Grooming Assistants

Logan:

Hiya! I’m Logan and I am obsessed with corgis. The one in my picture? I met him on the sidewalk outside of the salon one day, ran outside & asked to say hi. He’s been coming in for grooming ever since that day. I’m mainly working in the mobile feline van, I’m the one you talk to during your appointment and will always try to send you silly pictures of your pets when their spa day is over (I have tiny props, like mini cat glasses). Feel free to check out my Instagram loganatpurrdypaws if you wanna see the pets we work with! Dogs, cats, bunnies, hedgehogs, sometimes we even get surprised with kittens.

A little bit about me: I went to school to become a veterinary assistant, in the program we had grooming and obedience classes which led to me realizing a vet clinic wasn’t the right place for me, I fell in love with the training and grooming aspects of the animal world. I am also a certified dog trainer through the FernDog Academy and foster when I have the opportunity to. I have two cats named Mac & Cheese...... they’re not orange though. I’m always happy to give advice so free free to ask anything during your appointment see you soon!

Kayla:

Hey! I’m Kayla and I’m a bather at Purrdy Paws Spa. Everyday my goal is to make sure the dogs I’m working with are as comfortable and happy as can be. I’ve owned all kinds of animals and I currently have three pets. Two cats, Ella and Koda, and a Staffordshire Terrier named Medusa. They mean the world to me. I strongly believe every animal should be treated with love, compassion, and patience. I truly care for every dog I work with and hope to one day soon see you and your furry friend at the salon for a spa day.
